The UNC Health Care System is a not-for-profit integrated health care system, owned by the State of North Carolina and based in Chapel Hill.

UNC Health Care is closely aligned with the UNC School of Medicine, a premiere public medical school, ranked 2nd in U.S. News & World Report for primary care and 21st as a research institution. Oliver Smithies, a 2008 Nobel Laureate, is one of our 1,400 full- and part-time faculty, and our 730 students are among the brightest in the nation.

The UNC Health Care System includes N.C. Memorial Hospital, N.C. Women’s Hospital, N.C. Children’s Hospital, N.C. Neurosciences Hospital, and the N.C. Cancer Hospital. Rex Healthcare in Raleigh, Chatham Hospital in Siler City, and Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville, are also part of the UNC Health Care System.
