You might quickly assume that you are Self Conscious, but it is helpful to have a relative scale for awareness and consciousness If you have ever been in an fight or flight situation you may have experienced everything happening in slow motion and noticed details of your thought process and the event. This is a state of heightened awareness.
With practice we can learn to engage these types of heightened states and see new opportunities for interpretations in our thoughts, emotions, and conversations. Having awareness creates the opportunity to make changes in behavior and beliefs.
Self Consciousness is the state or quality of self awareness, or, of being self aware of an external object or something within oneself. It has been defined variously in terms of sentience, awareness, subjectivity, the ability to experience or to feel, wakefulness, having a sense of selfhood or soul, the fact that there is something “that it is like” to “have” or “be” it, and the executive control system of the mind, or the state or quality of awareness, or, of being aware of an external object or something within oneself.
Self-Consciousness resides within an immaterial domain (the realm of thought), in contrast to the domain of material things (the realm of extension). There is an interaction between these two domains occurs inside the brain.

Changing the interpretations in your mind allows you to change your emotions. Pure Consciousness is an important factor in achieving success.
